DAILY DEVOTIONAL

"Going forward a little, he fell on his face, praying and saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me! Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Matthew 26:39

Thoughts: On the night Jesus was betrayed, He was in Gethsemane with His disciples. It was a difficult time. Jesus was in a deep agony of spirit. He was about to lay down His life to be killed and crucified. You can imagine His affliction and His anguish right now!!! However, He still manages to leave us another good example, teaching us that in the midst of tribulations the best thing to do is to look for a reserved place and prostrate ourselves before God. Jesus confessed his anguish to the Lord, then submitted to the Father's will, and thanks to His obedience He brought us the hope of resurrection, and gave us the right to eternal life with Him.

Prayer: Lord God, every day that passes I feel more in love with You, because I realize the care and love that You have for Your children. There is nothing better than being able to count on you especially in the most difficult times!!! Please help me to do your will. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
