NEW PATCH IN OLD CLOTH!

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

"No one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, for the patch will strain the garment and make the tear worse."

Matthew 9:16

When Jesus gives this parable, He was referring to His presence among the Jews. Jesus was the new fabric, the Messiah and the religious were part of the old fabric. The religiosity and inflexible Judaism of the Pharisees could not bear the novelty of Christ, making it impossible to "sew" the two together. Religiosity was not able to bear the novelty of Salvation. As with the veil of the temple (Matthew 27:51),

Jesus came to tear the "old fabric", bringing a new time and an opportunity for everyone who believes in His word, whether Jew or Gentile. Let Jesus renew your life! New patch on new clothes

- Only new clothing supports a new patch (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you are a new creature, seek to learn more about Jesus.

- Religiosity can separate us from Christ. Seek God out of love and not out of obligation. - Allow Christ to transform your mind, be open to the change that the Word of God brings (Romans 12:2).

To Pray: Lord our God and our Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus before your presence we place ourselves, at this time touch my brother and sister who wants to be changed, transform, rise in the name of Jesus. We want every day to seek new things from you my God, advance with us in Jesus name. Amen.
