DAILY DEVOTIONAL

'Put therefore these words of mine in your heart and in your soul; tie them by sign in your hand, so that they are frontally between the eyes. Teach them to your children, speaking of them sitting in your house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up.'

Deuteronomy 11:18-19 

Thought: Moses gives us three crucial messages about the commandments of God. First, as parents, it is our responsibility to teach them to our children - it is not the responsibility of the government, or the schools, or our churches. Second, we must teach them in our daily routine as a family. Third, we must continually teach them, both with our words as well as with our lives as we are creating them. 

PRAYER: O Lord God, please bless me as I seek to share my faith with others, especially those in my family. Please bless me with a faithful witness to them, the right words at the right time, and the courage and sensitivity to bear my testimony with loving respect and the courage to live as a strong Christian example to my children and grandchildren. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
