THE VERB BECAME FLESH!

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth, and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten of the Father."

John 1:14

Thought: The Son came to this world to bring the glory of God, to make it accessible to us wretched, lost, sin-laden men, and to introduce us to that glory. What glory is it? The Lord Jesus Christ Himself answered this question in the priestly prayer when He said, "And now, Father, glorify me with Yourself with the glory which I had with You before the world was" (John 17:5). In His own person Jesus brought us the glory of God, glory so great that no man can bear it, glory which He had with the Father before the foundation of the world.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for Your Glory, for Your Grace, and for sending Your Son into the world to save us. We are grateful to the Lord for what he has done for us, and that we can live with eyes turned to eternity, for his promise says that the Lord will be with us every day until the end of the age. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
