"I leave you peace, my peace I give you; I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Do not let your hearts be troubled or be frightened."

 John 14:27

Thoughts: We may be facing a great struggle, but we know that true peace is close at hand. Not merely exterior and transient peace, or the artificial peace of antidepressants, vacations, or the absence of problems. But the peace that springs from the heart of the one who died on the cross. The source of the river of blood shed eternally for us to have life. It is the peace of Jesus that overcomes the worst circumstances. The true peace that comes from trusting in the one God, creator and sustainer of life. God Himself frees us from the storms of this life, and graciously offers us His Peace.

Prayer: Dear Father, You are the reason for my existence. Even though the fights are big, they are no bigger than my sovereign God. I declare that my trust is in the Lord, and I know that all these tribulations will draw me closer and closer to You. Where God dwells there is peace, and the Lord dwells in my heart. That is why I can rest, and take possession, of this peace that Christ has won for me. I pray and give thanks in Jesus' name. Amen.
