"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous; fear not, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:9

Thoughts: At the same time these words were spoken to Joshua, when he took the place of Moses, they also apply to us. Take a moment and read Psalm 139 aloud and see that God's promise to be with us is for all who call on him. Listen to Jesus' words in Matthew 28:18-20, when he promises his disciples that he will be with them "always, until the end of the age." Remember God's promise, reiterated of an Old Testament blessing, in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave you nor forsake you!" Let's be strong; our God, our Father, our Shepherd is always close, even when it doesn't seem like it. We cannot go anywhere without your presence close to us, and in us, we are not alone. We don't need to be afraid. Indeed, not even death can separate us from his love. (Romans 8:35-39)
