1. On the same day, when Jesus left home, he sat by the sea;

2. and large crowds were gathered to him, so that he got into a boat, and sat down; and all the people were standing on the beach.

3. And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went out to sow.

4. and when he sowed, a part of the seed fell by the way, and the birds came and ate.

5. And another part fell in rocky places, where there was not much land: and soon it was born, because it had no deep land;

6. But when the sun came out, it was burned, and because it had no root, it withered away.

7. And another fell among thorns; and the thorns grew and choked her.

8. But another fell on good soil and bore fruit, one to a hundred, another to sixty, and another to thirty by one.

9. Whoever has ears, listen.
